The Part VII Transfer and data privacy reminder
In 2020 Lloyd’s undertook the largest ever transfer of EEA business to LIoyd’s Insurance Company S.A. (LIC or Lloyd’s Europe). Wednesday, 30 December 2020 was the Scheme Effective Date (SED) for the Lloyd’s of London Part VII Transfer of all in-scope EEA and Monegasque risks (incepting from 1993 up to 12 April 2019 for Direct Business and up to 29 October for Inwards German Reinsurance business) to Lloyd’s Insurance Company S.A. (LIC / Lloyd’s Europe).
This has been a truly monumental programme of work for the Market, Lloyd’s and LIC and we are incredibly proud of the collaborative nature in which our teams in London and across Europe have worked, together with the Lloyd’s market, industry associations and technical experts.
The successful transfer of this business to LIC has enabled the continued management and servicing of both EEA and Monegasque issued policies, and global policies with EEA and Monegasque exposures, following the end of the transitional period after the UK’s exit from the EU.
